Daniel Veit grew up in a restaurant obsessed family in the Philadelphia area, with inexpensive Chianti poured from the fiasco bottle forming his first memories of food and wine. Veit left the industry for a short career in the tech industry developing mapping software for GPS devices which ultimately fueled a fascination for wine regions of the world. After working in Denver at Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse and it's award winning 3000 bottle wine list, Veit landed in Santa Barbara to pursue a hands on approach to working in the wine business including harvest stints at top wineries in the county, and, iconic Central Coast restaurants Wine Cask and The Lark before being recruited to lead Les Marchands, the wine bar and retailer featured in the Somm movies. L.A. came calling and Veit had the opportunity to immerse into the country’s most dynamic wine market, tending organic and biodynamic wine lists for some of the best restaurants and hotels in the country along with consulting on several movies
