Copal 22 is a premium tequila (40% ABV) crafted in Amatitán, Jalisco, a region known for its volcanic, mineral-rich soils that shape agave with distinctive complexity and herbaceous depth. Produced under the guidance of a fourth-generation Maestro Tequilero with more than 30 years of experience, it is a terroir-driven tequila that honors the traditions of tequila-making while preserving their heritage for future generations. Agaves are harvested only after 6–8 years of maturation to ensure optimal sugar concentration and flavor development.
The tequila is made using controlled steam cooking, roller-mill extraction for full agave flavor preservation, temperature-dependent fermentation cycles lasting up to approximately 50 hours, and double distillation for clarity and balance. Mineral-balanced deep-well water is used for proofing, contributing to its smooth texture and refined taste. Each bottle is hand-labeled by women from the local community, reflecting a commitment to regional craftsmanship and tradition.
Aged in American whiskey barrels, Copal 22 introduces a new kind of cross-cultural dimension that bridges Mexican heritage with modern American influence, creating layered character, taste, and depth. The result is a tequila recognized for its purity, balance, and exceptional smoothness.
