Can you share a bit about your journey into the world of spirits?

I started my career at a very small bar at the Hilton and was offered me to take a mixology class in San Francisco that the start of my love for spirits. 

The USA Spirits Ratings are known for their holistic judging criteria. In your opinion, what sets these criteria apart, and how do they align with what today's trade and consumers are looking for?

Working as a bartender in the hospitality field for many years. I notice people looking for quality spirits with good value.

Considering the diverse aspects of Spirits assessment—such as quality, value for money, and packaging—how do you balance these elements during judging, and which do you find most challenging to evaluate?

First and foremost, I feel the quality need to match the value. I find packaging can be challenging due to my style being different than the average on the market nowadays. 

Competitions often highlight trends within the spirits industry. Based on your experience as a judge, can you identify any emerging trends that are gaining traction?

I find the new trend in the old fashioned world added spices and savory into the cocktail is showing traction.

Much valuable for them as they hear feedback on improving what they have already created.
