La Aurora’s E. León Jimenes 110 Aniversario Rum bags a Gold with 94 points and has won Rum of the Year at the 2022 USA Spirits Ratings, held on July 24 in San Francisco, USA.

This year at USA Spirits Ratings, the esteemed panel of judges evaluated more than 800 different spirits from across the globe, with some new ones on the block and some old favorites. The judging took place on July 24 in South San Francisco. 

Eduardo León Jimenes established the La Aurora cigar factory in 1903 in the Santiago de los Caballeros province's Don Pedro, Guazumal. The E. León Jimenes 110 Aniversario Rum is a premium spirit, with only 3,000 numbered bottles produced annually.

The E. León Jimenes 110 Aniversario Rum by La Aurora, the first cigar factory in the Dominican Republic, commemorated its 110th birthday five years ago with a magnificent and fresh release. After 10 years of maturing, this rum provides cigar enthusiasts with the perfect matching experience. Rich and complex E. León Jimenes 110 Aniversario rum has great flavor and a lively finish with sweet, spicy, and flowery notes that enhance the flavor of fine cigars.

Ron E. León Jimenes 110 Aniversario is an award-winning rum and has won the Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2020. The ageing process for E. León Jimenes 110 Aniversario is entirely unique; the initial eight years in virgin American White Oak barrels impart most of its flavor to the rum, but the final two years in virgin French Oak barrels give it the roundness and homogeneity that give it the character and finish. This process earned the rum a score of 97 points from the Beverage Testing Institute, making it a superlative spirit by their experts' standards.
