Ryan, a fermentation enthusiast, had previously founded a home brewing supply store in his hometown of Plainfield, Vermont.

The taste and affection of its creator, Miguel Angelo Nunes in Alentejo and Its Eco-system. Cork, animals, plants, beaches and fields. Was in the origin of the Brand Black Pig Alentejo .

In 2007, the company began to plant Medronheiros, the first Orchards Orchard. In the Alentejana Costa, for the production of Medronho Holder, in 2018 the Black Pig Distillery, located in Santo André was constructed.
